Many Departments, One Solution
Pathology labs, kidney dialysis departments, maternity wards, and any location in your medical facility where bacteria-free water is essential, will benefit from UV-C water treatment. These UV Water Purification Systems require limited attention. They operate without the danger of undesirable chemical reactions. No residue is left behind. The SANITRON® UV Water Purifier is an efficient and cost-effective solution that ensures purified water for your hospital.
How Does UV Treatment Create the Purified Water My Medical Facility Needs?
The overall advantage of SANITRON® UV-C Water Purifiers is their effectiveness. STER-L-RAY® UV-C Lamps produce wavelengths lethal to many harmful microorganisms. Successful disinfection depends on the proper dose of UV light needed for the particular organisms to be inactivated. Read our FAQ post on UV-C light to learn more.

In order to achieve proper treatment for your medical facility, water flowing through its UV disinfection chamber must be exposed to adequate germicidal dosage — a function of exposure time and UV-C intensity. Ultraviolet rays directly strike the microorganism in the chamber to achieve inactivation. Read our blog post on how UV water purifiers work.
Selecting the Correct UV Water Purifier for Microorganism Inactivation
SANITRON® water purifiers, when utilized at or below the recommended flow rate, will destroy most microorganisms present in clear water. The water purifier can always achieve more UV dosage by operating at a lower-than-recommended flow rate. Small and compact units that may be suitable in healthcare settings can operate between 120-1,200 gallons per hour. Larger units can provide 25,000 gallons per hour or more, meeting water treatment needs in an entire medical facility.
SANITRON® Model S5,000C provides maximum flexibility. Additional units can be easily added as your process changes over time. Larger units can be configured in a parallel series with reserve chambers that provide system shutdown and replacement of individual components without service interruption.
Economical and Easy to Maintain
The following benefits make SANITRON® the best choice for medical facility water treatment:
- Hundreds of gallons purified for each penny of operation cost.
- Lamps require little energy to operate and do not generate an abundance of heat.
- Integrated features allow for ease of installation and maintenance.
- UV lamp change and quartz sleeve cleanings occur without a full system shut-down, providing a continuous supply of purified water — a feature unique to the SANITRON® product line.
- No special training or tools are required for lamp change and maintenance.
UV-C monitors are available as an accessory, providing an audible alert, shutting down water treatment, or a combination of both depending on the needs of your medical facility.
