Standard and optional features make Atlantic Ultraviolet’s Air and Surface Irradiators an ideal addition to your meat processing facility’s UV-C HACCP controls integration. Microorganism contamination in your meat or poultry processing facility can occur at any point in production. With products moving across various areas of your plant, cross-contamination can wipe out tens of thousands of dollars of product in mere seconds. Even worse, contaminations can have deadly consequences if the infected product makes it to market. Ultraviolet (UV-C) air and surface disinfection and irradiation technology integrated within your meat processing facility mitigates contamination risks. UV-C is lethal to virtually all microorganisms and can be one of the compliant steps in your Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP).SaniLIGHT® and Sani·Ray® Standard Features Ensure Easy UV-C HACCP Controls Integration
SaniLIGHT ® Germicidal Ultraviolet Irradiators and Sani·Ray® Germicidal Ultraviolet Fixtures have several standard features that enable you to effortlessly integrate UV technology into your HACCP controls and keep all areas of your facility sanitary. STER-L-RAY ® UV-C lamps emit ultraviolet energy at 254 nanometers—a wavelength that’s lethal to virtually all microorganisms with proper dosage. This includes pathogenic bacteria such as E. coli, Salmonella, and L. monocytogens, spoilage bacteria, virus, and mold. Successful disinfection depends on germicidal ultraviolet wavelengths having unobstructed exposure to the treatment surfaces or water and liquid. Ozone producing lamps are an option to handle odor control applications. For applications where more powerful UV-C is needed, there are now a number of fixtures that utilize High Output (HO) lamps which will produce a bit more UV output than conventional (standard) UV lamps. For applications where the temperature is cooler than room temperatures, such as walk-in refrigerators, meat lockers, or holding rooms, use fixtures with STER-L-RAY ® Cold Cathode Lamps. State-of-the-art Surelite™ Electronic Ballasts are specifically developed for the operation of ultraviolet lamps. Versatile, ballasts provide high lamp output; are lightweight, efficient, and operate cool for longer life. Our UV Application Specialists will perform the necessary calculations to make sure you select the right fixture. If we recommend a unique fixture, our factory in NY will manufacture and deliver exactly what’s needed.Optional Accessories Provide Added Safety Benefits and HACCP Compliance Peace of Mind
Ultraviolet radiation is powerful and can be harmful to skin and eyes if exposure occurs. Optional features give staff peace of mind when operating. Staff monitors the UV output from a safe distance for microorganism eradication assurance. You are safe and know that your SaniLIGHT ® and Sani·Ray® are assisting in the contamination risk mitigation needed for HACCP compliance. The SENTINEL ® Remote Lamp Indicator allows the operator to know from a safe distance that the lamps are hard at work. The Zenith™ Ultraviolet Meter is an easy-to-read handheld meter telling if radiation in the treated space is within acceptable limits. The Face Shield is a lightweight visor with adjustable headgear that provides eye and face protection from germicidal ultraviolet rays The Wire Form Lamp Guard helps protect lamps from accidental breakage. If lamp breakage should occur, the ArmorLite™ Ultraviolet Lamp Safety Shield eliminates the danger of broken lamp fragments and mercury contamination, keeping staff, work environments, and products safe.Learn More about Meat Processing & Shop Our Products
