This instructional video demonstrates a Quartz Sleeve and Germicidal UV Lamp removal and replacement for a SANITRON UV Water Purifier.
SANITRON® UV Water Purifier Lamp Removal
SAFETY EQUIPMENT REQUIRED TO PERFORM TASK
Step 1
WARNING: Disconnect power to the SANITRON® 
Ultraviolet water purifier. Shut off water supply to water purifier via inlet and outlet shut off valves. Drain chamber by removing drain plug. Once the chamber is completely drained, remove any old sealing tape from the threads of the drain plug, rewrap with 1/2” wide Teflon® thread sealing tape, reinstall and tighten the drain plug.
Step 2
Remove EASY-OFF™ End Cap by pulling cap off static gland nut. Slide end cap along the wire away from the socket.
Step 3
Carefully withdraw lamp approximately 2 inches from chamber to reveal lamp socket.
Step 4
While holding lamp end, carefully remove lamp socket on now exposed end.
Step 5
Remove the other EASY-OFF™ End Cap by pulling cap off static gland nut. Slide end cap along the wire away from the socket.
Step 6
Carefully withdraw lamp approximately 2 inches from chamber to reveal lamp socket.
Step 7
While holding lamp end, carefully remove lamp socket.
Step 8
Lamp should now be disconnected on both ends. Carefully remove lamp from chamber. Be sure to withdraw lamp straight out without angling until completely clear of quartz sleeve. CAUTION: Lamp and quartz sleeve are easily damaged. Exercise care when handling
SANITRON® Ultraviolet Water Purifier Quartz Sleeve Removal
Step 1
Unscrew static gland nut from end of the chamber. Avoid striking quartz sleeve with static gland nut.
Step 2
Remove Teflon® washer from end of quartz sleeve. Teflon® washer will sometimes remain within the static gland nut.
Step 3
Remove O-Ring from quartz sleeve.
Step 4
Unscrew static gland nut from end of the chamber. Avoid striking quartz sleeve with static gland nut.
Step 5
Remove Teflon® washer and O-Ring from end of quartz sleeve. Teflon® washer will sometimes remain within the static gland nut.
Step 6
Carefully remove quartz sleeve from chamber. NOTE: It is advisable to support the quartz sleeve on the opposite end with your finger so that it does not drop to the bottom of the chamber as it slides into the chamber.
SANITRON UV Water Purifier Quartz Sleeve Installation
Step 1
Since the quartz sleeve must go through the Teflon® wiper segments, it is important that the wiper be locked in its home position when sliding the quartz sleeve through the chamber. Carefully slide quartz sleeve through chamber while supporting the quartz sleeve with your finger on the opposite end. Make sure the quartz sleeve protrudes an equal distance past each threaded nipple.
Step 2
Affix O-Ring to quartz sleeve.
Step 3
Affix Teflon® washer to quartz sleeve.
Step 4
Screw on gland nut, DO NOT USE HAND TOOLS. Tightening with hand tools is likely to cause gland nut or quartz sleeve to break.
Step 5
Affix O-Ring to quartz sleeve.
Step 6
Affix Teflon® washer to quartz sleeve.
Step 7
Screw on gland nut, DO NOT USE HAND TOOLS. Tightening with hand tools is likely to cause gland nut or quartz sleeve to break.
SANITRON® UV Water Purifier Lamp Installation
Step 1
Carefully slide lamp through chamber straight without angling.
Step 2
Connect socket to end of lamp.
Step 3
Feed wire through to reveal lamp head on other side.
Step 4
Attach EASY-OFF™ End Cap to static gland nut.
Step 5
Connect socket to other end of lamp.
Step 6
Attach EASY-OFF™ End Cap to static gland nut.
